A 5/10K Walk to Boca Ciega Millennium Park
HOSTED BY THE SUNCOAST SANDPIPERS
DESCRIPTION
Enjoy a mid-summer morning walk with the Suncoast Sandpipers, a walking club which hosts walks throughout the Tampa Bay area, as they stroll in the trail of ancient mammoths. From HERS, it’s an easy trek (rated 1+ for some rough surfaces) to Boca Ciega Millennium Park where fossils of mammoths, saber toothed tigers and giant sloths were recently found. While the Sandpipers can’t promise fossils, walkers will be able to catch sight of 6 sculptures hidden in the brush along side the park boardwalks. Sorry, no pets! Wheel chairs and strollers can be accommodated.
