China Volkssport Association Walks

Walking In ChinaChina Volkssport Association (CVA) is IVV’ s national club in China. We are experienced in organizing general walking tours and expedition tours or special tours according to walkers’ certain requirements. We could offer walking tours throughout China, especially Great Wall walk in China. Actually, we have conquered almost all sections of Great Wall around Beijing. Through taking part in our events, you may not only enjoy China¡¯s beautiful scenic spots but also have a better understanding about China’s Culture and history. Our walking tours include:

Club Walk - JAX - San Marco this Saturday 11/18

Club walk - JAX - San Marco this Saturday 11/18. We will meet at the Omni Hotel at 8:45 AM. Directions to the Omni are below.

We will have a short meeting beginning at 12:13 PM after the walk and before lunch. Billie & Larry Hayward have arranged a location which is described below.

The meeting on Saturday will be at Boomtown Subterranea Supper Club, 140 W. Monroe St. on Hemming Plaza approx. 3 blocks from the Omni.

We met with the owners, Stephen Dare and John Allen Harrett, on Saturday. We will be seated in the nightclub dining room for our meeting. Other lunch patrons will be in another area of the restaurant. I need to get a count for lunch at walk registration so I can phone John and he can set up the room. He will assign a server to our group. The menu is fusion cuisine and Steve is the chef. For additional info view their website at www.boomtowntheatre.com.

The Worker Walk for the Old Town Fernandina 12/2 walk will be held on Sunday November 26. Meet at the Central Park gazebo on Atlantic Avenue in Fernandina Beach at 1 PM.

Go two blocks to Water St. Turn left. Hotel on left. From I-95 SOUTHBOUND - take left lane exit 353B (West Union St.) Go left toward Riverfront/Sports Complex. Go about .6 mile to Pearl St. Turn right. Go 9 blocks to Water St. Turn left. Hotel is on left. Start box is at front desk. Parking: Metered parking is free on weekends; the least expense weekday parking is at “The Jacksonville Landing” parking lot on Water St.

Event Description: Daily dawn to dusk. Trail is rated 1+ and is not suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. This walk takes you over one of Jacksonville’s beautiful bridges and will return you on a different one. You will go through San Marco, one of Jacksonville’s older exclusive neighborhoods with beautiful waterfront homes. Many restaurants and restrooms available on this walk. The event qualifies for the RiverWalk America walking program.
