AVA Disney Weekend
David Toth and the Trinity Trekkers from Texas will be hosting a 2 Event weekend, Nov 25-26, 2006 in Disney World. It seems that all of the kinks have been worked out with the Disney people and the brochure has been finalized. I have attached that brochure for your information and dissemination.
This will be a “first” in that Disney has never co-sponsored an AVA event before. The Mid Florida Milers have a couple of terrific walks around Disney but none inside the Theme Parks. As you will notice, there is a significant cost involved if you take the whole package. If you have anyone interested, please advise them to contact Disney Sports Travel for information on packages. The basic cost is actually quite reasonable when you consider the “regular” costs at Disney.
So when someone asks you, “Where are you going, now?” You can answer, “I’m going to Disney World!!”

Location: WALT DISNEY WOLRD® Resort, near Orlando, Florida, with trails leading thru the four WALT DISNEY WORLD® Theme Parks.
Time: Event packets should be picked up Friday night at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort lobby and brought with you on Saturday morning to the kickoff for the first event; and on Sunday for the second day of volkssport walking at 0700 both days.
Awards: Souvenir medal on a neck lanyard [see cover] to commemorate participation in this inaugural event.
Fees: Credit only is $3. Package prices start at $181 per person and includes 2-night accommodations, a 2-day Theme Park ticket, registration for both walks and the commemorative medal. For more information on available packages, please contact Disney Sports Travel at 407/939-7810.
Accommodations: A special block of rooms has been reserved for attendees at the Disney’s All Star Sports Resort.
Pets: No pets are allowed inside the Theme Parks, but excellent kennel facilities are available. Please ask about kennel information when you call for room reservations.
Trails: Trail #1 – will take you around Disney-MGM Studios and then along the walking path past the Swan & Dolphin Resorts, by Disney’s Boardwalk and Disney’s Yacht Club Resorts to the World Showcase entrance to EPCOT®; then around EPCOT® and to the FINISH.
Trail #2 – will start at Disney’s Animal Kingdom® Theme Park and onto the Magic Kingdom® Park and back to the FINISH
Handicapped walkers are welcome on all trails;
Wheelchairs and scooters can be rented from
firms nearby and used throughout your stay.
Additional discounted Theme Park tickets will
be available through Disney Sports Travel for
all those who pre-register for this event.

By Air: Register for Disney’s Magical Express and be picked up from the airport by the Disney’s Magical Express shuttle.
By Train: Take the Amtrack East Coast Express to the Orlando Train Station and then take the Disney Bus to the hotel
